Johnson – AR --- Shake Extractions, LLC (“Shake”), Arkansas’s first female-founded medical cannabis extraction company was granted approval by the Medical Marijuana Commission (MMC) at its monthly meeting held on the second of March, 2021. Led by Julie Brents, Brittany Phillips, Antigone Davoulas and Syrona Scott, Shake was created to manufacture organic beauty and wellness products sold into Arkansas dispensaries. With its sights on 2022, Shake will offer chemical-free processing of pesticide-free floral materials to make products such as concentrates and rosins, infused extracts for oral and topical use, skincare and personal care products with an emphasis on small-batch, sustainable and eco-friendly packaging.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with other licensed cultivators, dispensaries and processors to help elevate Arkansas cannabis,” says Julie Brents, COO. “In addition to manufacturing, we also offer the full branding experience to our clients. Branding is going to play a critical role for establishing a lasting presence here in Arkansas as more southern brands are introduced into this emerging market.”
With nearly 100 years combined professional experience, Shake’s goal through the 2021 is to position and empower a new wave of Arkansas pioneers by helping to research, develop, and bring strong, local brands to market.
Commissioner Travis Story of the MMC said, “I looked at your application top to bottom and I thought you guys did a really good job with it...now I think the celebration can start...hopefully, you can do some great work for the people of Arkansas."
